A Letter From the President

Welcome to the Omega chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon! While exploring our website, I hope you get a first-hand look at who we are and what our sisterhood stands for. Our values are Friendship, Leadership, and Professionalism. We strive to uphold our values, while still staying intact with our roots in engineering. Alpha Omega Epsilon was founded in 1983 at Marquette University by 27 brave female engineers, looking to create a support system for women in their field. Over the years, our sorority has opened its doors to women of all majors. Our chapter consists of women from a wide range of majors and backgrounds. Alpha Omega Epsilon provides our sisters with a networking system that can’t be found in any other organization like ours.

Since joining Alpha Omega Epsilon during fall recruitment of my freshman year, my experiences in this sisterhood have been incredible. I wasn’t very excited by the thought of Greek Life, but I decided to give it a try anyways, and every day I am thankful that I did. Alpha Omega Epsilon welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home right away. I knew that the women in this chapter were people I would feel proud to call my sisters. I have sisters who have worked with NASA. Sisters who are educating our nation. Sisters who are living their dreams. Sisters who are going to change the world. This chapter has helped me grow as an individual, a leader, and a sister. I’ve been provided so many opportunities to be a leader and endless memories with my sisters that I know I will never forget. If you’re on the fence about joining a sorority, my advice for you is to take the jump! While it’s very cliché, it’s also very true: you miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take. Become a part of something that will make your college experience a thousand times more memorable, with a sisterhood beside you.

In Friendship, Leadership, and Professionalism,

Andrea Berends
