Q: Why should I join Alpha Omega Epsilon?

A: Everyone joins a sorority for different reasons, but all of us are bound by our common values. Being a sister of Alpha Omega Epsilon means that you will be surrounded by like-minded individuals who will support, encourage, and uplift you in all aspects of your life. In addition, membership in A.O.E. means gaining a networking system unlike any other. Our active and alumnae sisters are professionals in their own right and will be a support system for life, bound by our lifelong ties of sisterhood.

Q: Does Alpha Omega Epsilon haze?

A: Alpha Omega Epsilon has a zero tolerance hazing policy. Furthermore, Alpha Omega Epsilon prohibits discrimination against and harassment of any member or potential new member because of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, veteran status or any other characteristic protected under federal or applicable state law. Q: How much does it cost to join Alpha Omega Epsilon?

A: Our new member, or candidate, dues are $170. Once you become an active member, dues typically vary between $275-$375 a semester. The cost of dues is dependent on the number of members we have and the events and activities we're planning for that semester. Q: I was extended a bid to join Alpha Omega Epsilon. What happens next?

A: Once you accept your bid, you will begin your new member period, which we call candidacy. Our candidacy is a six week long period where you will learn about our chapter and get a feel for our sisterhood. After the six weeks, you will become an active member and will enjoy the lifelong benefits of being Alpha Omega Epsilon sister!

Q: How much time will I have to commit to Alpha Omega Epsilon? Will it affect my academics?

A: Sisters are required to attend weekly meetings and other chapter events, including philanthropic, social, and sisterhood events. On average, our sisters typically spend 2-4 hours a week on A.O.E. related things. Alpha Omega Epsilon holds high scholastic standards and we help our members develop time management skills. Learning these skills will help you be able to manage your academics and your time in the sorority.

Q: What are the requirements to join?

A: Our chapter has a GPA requirement of 2.2 and the girls must be in good standing with the University. We also only accept undergraduate students.

Q: What if I identify as non-binary?

A: Alpha Omega Epsilon is an accepting and open space for those who identify as nonbinary. Furthermore, membership is also open to those who are transgender, genderfluid, non-conforming, agender, and genderqueer. Membership will not be considered for those who identify as cisgender men and binary transgender men.
